Growing with KIBO is the core PK-2 curriculum for KinderLab Robotics’ KIBO Robot Kit. It provides educators of young learners with 60 sequenced hours of standards-aligned lesson plans in robotics, coding, and computational thinking.
This guide was designed to support early elementary classrooms with a complete, sequenced STEAM curriculum, not only covering robotics, coding, and computational thinking, but also providing opportunities for integrating these topics with arts and literacy activities.
I oversaw the creation of this curriculum during 2019 and 2020, working with curriculum developers in Dr. Marina Bers’ DevTech Research Group, and conducting beta tests and review cycles with KIBO ambassadors. The guide became the primary curriculum included in KIBO classroom packages as of 2020.
